It is a truth universally acknowledged. . .
"I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading!"
— from Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen
Autumn is officially here. The leaves are turning and the winds are blowing, so why not come and stay warm in the Bright Emporium this weekend. There’s lots on, with a workshop for everyone and a very special Book Launch to boot! This Saturday sees the launch of a new Babylit series of storybooks – the step up from their board book cousins, these storybooks include quotes from the original classics and endeavour to introduce these well known and much loved novels to early readers in a fun, and may I say, beautiful way.
The book launch is free and there’s no need to book. There will be a craft making table and readings from the authors along with LOTS of cupcakes! I look forward to seeing you there.
Come and join in the fun —

NEWS
The Sunday Times have just published an article on our MD and Founder, Vicki Willden-Lebrecht, in this weekend’s Business & Money section:
"Vicki Willden-Lebrecht has run her own business since the age of seven — when she sold bracelets made of shells from a stall in the garden. After stints pitching T-shirts to classmates and hawking frozen food out of the back of a van during university holidays, she set up the Bright Agency, specialising in children’s books, in 2003. She funded the business in part by selling her car and last year was shortlisted for literary agent of the year at the British Book Industry Awards. The 38-year-old was inspired to set up Bright by a feeling that authors and illustrators should be “rock stars” — people whom children could look up to and be inspired by." 13 years on, having established the agency, Vicki set up The Bright Emporium as a platform to share her artists' work.
