The Annual conference committee have finalised this year’s conference venue. I am delighted to inform you that the 2018 National Local Government Customer Service Conference will be held at Rydges Southbank Brisbane from 17-19 October 2018.

In previous years, the conference has started on the Wednesday evening with the Welcome event and concluded at lunchtime on Friday. The Executive Committee have received feedback from some delegates that they miss some of the content on the Friday due to flight schedules.

Therefore, the 2018 annual conference will commence on Wednesday at 1pm followed by the Welcome Event. Thursday will be a full day of content followed by the Gala Awards Dinner with Friday morning networking over breakfast. This enables to access early flights or undertake some sight-seeing, without missing out on any of the conference agenda.

Thank you to those Councils that have submitted expression of interest to present at the Conference. The Executive has received excellent submissions and the agenda will be finalised over the coming week.

This year, the Executive have booked all available hotel rooms for the conference with no scope to add extra rooms due to the high level of demand. Registrations open on Monday, 19 March and I encourage you to book early, as not to miss out on accommodation at the Rydges.

I know I say it each year but again the draft agenda looks amazing, we have locked in great key note speakers and entertainment plus an excellent facilitated interactive workshop. Each delegate attending will be taking back to their Council ‘tools’ that will enable them to continue to move forward in ‘Spreading the love of customer services to both internal and external customers’.
