They're also family friendly, suitable for kids of all ages. Registration isn't compulsory but it does help us manage numbers. Summer maintenance As we are coming into the Labour Day long weekend, school holidays and Easter, MHARMB will be out and about tidying up tracks and trails and our open spaces, and we would encourage our site holders to do the same. The next hard waste collection is on the Tuesday immediately after Easter, so now is an excellent time to complete your clean-ups. GLaWAC art exhibition 2020 The Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Corporation (GLaWAC) art exhibition and competition will be held again in 2020, with the support of MHARMB. The 2019 event was a great success, and we are excited to be partnering with GLaWAC again, forming a solid foundation for an ongoing event. Full details of the exhibition will be posted soon. Spargos Hut restoration Restoration works on Spargos Hut will commence in May. With the help of volunteers from the Victorian High Country Huts Association, offsite works will be completed to allow for materials to be transported out to Spargos Hut during the 2020 winter. These works will include harvesting fire damaged snow gums and shaping timber beams and posts. This method makes it much easier for the volunteers as it will reduce the onsite requirement and the extra effort in getting to site. It has the added advantage of allowing materials to be transported to the site over snow rather than the long foot slog or the use of helicopters. Full details of the work program will be released soon - stay tuned as there may be the opportunity to watch these skilled and passionate volunteers at work. Community Recovery Committee update The first Community Recovery Committee meeting was held and terms of reference are being finalised. This committee will help inform the regional and municipal recovery committees to assist the community in returning to normality and building resilience to future events. Further to this, MHARMB will be pursuing grant funding to support the bushfire recovery process. We are continuing to support local and regional events through our marketing channels to support community and encourage visitors to return to the region.
