FE Financial Reporting: May 31, 2021ACTION: Physician societies – submit your financials before the next reporting deadline: May 31, 2021. Physician societies are required to reconcile their financials at least quarterly and annually to ensure accurate financial reporting and budgeting. This also provides the Facility Engagement Initiative (FEI) with accurate information on site spending. FEI requests that physician societies provide the following documents to engagement@doctorsofbc.ca for fiscal year 2020/21 year-end no later than May 31, 2021.

FEMS: Closing of COVID-19 and JCC Funding ActivitiesACTION: FEMS Administrator to close the “MoH Retroactive Payments for GP Physicians” and "MOH COVID Reimbursement" engagement activities for the 2020/21 fiscal year. FEMS Administrators should close the following engagement activities in FEMS, to complete the year-end for 2020/21.
The Winter/Fall COVID activity will be closed on behalf of the MSA by the provincial team. If you have any problems closing either activity, please contact femssupport@doctorsofbc.ca. NEW: Governance Fundamentals GuidebookA new JCC governance resource called “Governance Fundamentals Guidebook” has been developed to help physicians enhance their governance skills. The document explains the fundamentals regarding governance and how to become an effective contributor as a member of a governance table. The Guidebook is designed to be a resource document that can be used to gain information on a particular topic or read as a complete introduction to governance concepts. Based on the Guidebook content, upcoming webinars will cover topics . More information about the webinars will be made available soon. You can find the Governance Guidebook on our website. If you have any questions, please reach out to your Engagement Partner. FEMS: Cheques for Unincorporated MSAUnincorporated MSAs that are under the F.E. Services Company (FESC) are reminded that FESC discontinued issuing cheques last year. Currently, the following message will appear in FEMS when a the cheque option is selected under the payment method for unincorporated MSA physician profiles. If you receive this message you will need to change the method of payment to VersaPay (direct credit), or email transfer. Please note that we cannot remove the payment method as the physician societies use it within the system. Physician societies will still be able to choose cheques as an option. If you have any questions about payment methods, please contact FEMS support at femssupport@doctorsofbc.ca. FE Evaluation 2.0: UpdateOn April 19, 2021, the Facility Engagement Working Group Co-chairs sent a letter to MSAs and health authority partners, providing an update on the Facility Engagement provincial evaluation. Island HealthIsland PQI Team Cohort 6 applications The Physician Quality Improvement PQI Team is launching their Cohort 6 applications as of April 13. They would appreciate you sharing the following information with your physician distribution lists. Are you a member of the Medical Staff with a growth mindset who is passionate about improvement? Would you like to work with a team to address a gap in care in your area? Do you enjoy participating in fun, educational workshops with colleagues from across the island that will give you tools you can apply in real-time? Then PQI is the place for you! The Island Health PQI program is now accepting applications for their sixth Cohort; applications must be submitted by May 7 at 4.p.m. PQI is a 12-month professional development and education program for family physicians, specialists, nurse practitioners, and midwives that pairs medical staff with expert faculty, coaches, and data analysts to learn QI by leading an improvement project.
