The $899 DWARF II Deluxe Edition Smart Telescope arrives at BINTEL this week. This is the same telescope and mount at the popular DWARF II Classic Edition with the inclusion of both Light Pollution Reduction and Solar Filters as well as a spare battery.  These extra accessories are available for current owners of the DWARF II Classic Edition.

We know it can be sometimes confusing for beginners to work out their best possible telescope choice.  To help with this, we're going to being running a series where we cover in detail telescopes that we think are great options. To start with, we're going to be going over the $799 Celestron StarSense Explorer 130 DX. 

This is a larger, more powerful telescope compared to some other beginner's Celestron StarSense Explorer models. You will see more, and what can be seen with smaller telescopes will appear more detailed.

The Beevers are in the house!  - New Smart Microscopes in stock at BINTEL

The range of Smart Telescopes from BeaverLAB which we talked about last week are now in stock at BINTEL and busily finding their way into their new owner's homes.  (You can read more about them in last week's newsletter.)

Like Smart Telescopes, Smart Microscope are controlled by your phone or tablet rather than looking through them via an eyepiece.  This means you can photography or even video what you're viewing and easily share these views with others.

South Pacific Star Party - it's back!

BINTEL are proud sponsors of the South Pacific Star Party, an annual gathering of astronomers organised by the Astronomical Society of NSW. The event is the largest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere and BINTEL have been involved since the inaugural South Pacific Star Party was held, back in 1993.  It's on this weekend, the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic.  (This year's event is totally sold out, but there are other star parties later in the year across the country.)

BINTEL staff will be attending to show what possibly could be the smallest telescope on display and we're looking forward to hearing from astronomers about what they'd like to see in future astro gear.  There are also some exclusive discounts for attendees.

Venus and the Moon make a magical duo- 23rd May 2023

Have you noticed the very bright "star" in the western evening sky just it gets dark? This is not a star - it's the planet Venus. 

In the coming week, Venus and the new Moon form wonderful sight as it approaches Venus, gets close to it in an event called a conjunction and then moves past. 

The view above is how the Moon and Venus, along with Mars, will appear from Sydney early in the evening on the 23rd of May.  Well worth heading outside for a look.
