This week we are travelling to Austin Texas for the third edition of MondoCon, the ultimate convention for the film poster and soundtrack aficionado, with a heavy dose of top-notch illustration chucked in for good measure from some very talented folks. This is curated and organised by our good friends at the Mondo gallery, and we're beyond thrilled to have been invited for this their third edition, and are very much looking forward to meeting a lot of people we only know from e-mails and to making new friends.

We'll have a small stall (Table 12) with a handful of copies of most of our back catalogue prints plus some otherwise sold out copies of Nicolas Delort's "Last Year at Marienbad" and "Fitzcarraldo" Variant, George Bletsis' "Amelie" Variant, Matt Taylor's "Light At The End of the Tunnel" and Joao Ruas' "Jiro" and "Saburo". We don't have many copies of any one thing so if something on our website caught your eye and you didn't grab a copy yet we suggest you come over with the quickness.

If you are attending MondoCon and have any questions feel free to reply to this e-mail and we'll he happy to answer them as soon as we can.

MondoCon Exclusives

For our first MondoCon outing we're delighted to bring with us two new stunning prints that we think give a good representation of what we're about. Jeffrey Alan Love's 'Wings of Desire' and Jessica Seamans' 'Viy'.

2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Wim Wender's 'Wings of Desire'. The film should require no introduction but if you've not seen it it tells the stort of invisible, immortal angels who populate Berlin and listen to the thoughts of its human inhabitants, aiding those in distress and occasionally falling in love with them. It's a wonderful and thoughtful story beautifully told by the legendary Wim Wenders, and we're extremely thankful to the Wim Wenders Foundation for their help in making this print happen.

'Viy' is a different beast altogether. Credited as the first horror movie produced in the Soviet Union, 'Viy' tells the story of an unexperienced and less than pious priest who is sent to a remote village to hold a vigil in honour of a young woman's recent death. There, all alone at night inside the local church, he will come face to face with his inner demons and with evil itself. Filmed in 1967 the directors used mountains of ingeniuty to pull off some rather impressive special effects that have traumatised generations of Eastern Europeans, and also managed to pass quite a few bits of naughtyness past the censors; no mean feat in those days.

Anyways, enough of our rambling. Check out the posters, and hopefully see you in Austin this weekend!
