The EMTC Committee is sorry to advises our members, our Coaches and their clients, that the entire club is now CLOSED until further notice.

This decision comes from a combination of the following:

Victoria State Government - State of Emergency: Updated directions:   https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/state-emergency

In particular:  Direction - Non-essential activities (PDF) 

Clause 1 (1) talks about non-essential businesses and undertakings…
Clause 2 says it is replacing the previous directions and (a) add to the existing categories of non-essential activity.
Clause 5 (2) states what a ‘recreational facility’ is and tennis court is specifically named in (b) under outdoor physical recreation.

The Vic State Govt closure is currently in force until midnight Sunday 13th April 2020.  We are sure there will be a number of updates prior to this date and we will keep you informed, and will not open until State/Federal Government directives permit. 

Stonnington Council: A phone call, followed by an official email this morning, advising all tennis clubs within their shire must close until further notice.

With the closure in mind, the Committee will discuss adjustments to Memberships once we know when we can get back to normal operations.

We understand this may be frustrating for many of our members but we are living in unprecedented times. We hope all our members, their families and friends, remain healthy and safe during this pandemic.
