Dinner with Tommy Dean at the 2015 NEAS Management Conference

NEAS is pleased to introduce Tommy Dean as our featured performer for the NEAS Conference Dinner.  Dean’s comedy checks issues facing contemporary society with a refreshing dry wit.  His comedic style has been described as “astute,” “clean,” and “observational.” Stand UpComedians.com describes him as a comedian who sees life as an equation solved "with a mind bending laugh.”

Dean has performed his comedy throughout Australia. Please register here for the 2015 NEAS Management Conference, and we invite you to join us for dinner with Tommy Dean.

NEAS Welcomes New Quality Endorsed Centres

NEAS Quality Endorsement sets out to identify and celebrate a provider's triumphs and promote them to their stakeholders. What’s more, it can support them in their continuous improvement efforts.

Academia International, Impact English College, Imagine Education Australia and Universal Institute of Technology have recently undergone the review process and are to be congratulated on achieving Quality Endorsement.

CET's University Heroes Powers ELT

NEAS was thrilled to join the University Heroes launch at the University of Sydney’s Centre for English Teaching (CET). University Heroes is part of a wider effort  to  use digital technology as a way of engaging and enhancing the English Language learning experience for the contemporary student. University Heroes is a game application based on real international students who studied at CET. The scenarios symbolically represent global challenges students address through the quality English education they receive in Australia.  It also tests the player’s English speaking skills.

CET plans to release more scenarios for their University Heroes app in the future. Meanwhile, you can check out the current game through the iTunes and Android app stores.

NEAS Visits Bendigo TAFE

On a recent visit to the AMEP program at Bendigo Regional Institute of TAFE, the clients were proud to show off their recent modelling efforts. AMEP staff work with the Fine Arts Faculty at TAFE to enrich the English program.

Sue Sutherland, AMEP Manager at Bendigo explained that many of the clients in the Bendigo program are from Karenni backgrounds and suffered trauma before coming to Australia. Working with a tactile medium allows the clients to explore their English while communicating what has happened to them in the past.

These handcrafted works were off to the kiln that day for firing.
