Journal of Medical Toxicology Article Discussed on Good Morning America ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN reported on a recent JMT study that found the rate of calls regarding dietary supplement exposure to U.S. Poison Centers increased nearly 50% from 2005 to 2012. 70% of these cases occurred among children younger than six-years-old. Also in the News: ACMT Fentanyl Position Statement On July 12, ACMT and AACT released a position statement on safety precautions for emergency responders in case of fentanyl exposure. Several media outlets have recently featured articles discussing myths vs. science of fentanyl exposure. ACMT Bylaws Approved by Membership The ACMT Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the proposed bylaws amendment was approved by 92% of the responding votes. Five-Year ToxIC Study on Synthetic Cannabinoid Abuse Gains Attention A ToxIC study published in JMT reports in 353 cases of Synthetic Cannabinoid (SC) toxicity, nearly a quarter of patients were admitted to intensive care units.
