Lifesavers On Alert for Big Australia Day Long Weekend
With heatwave conditions and large swells forecast, surf lifesavers are preparing for a busy Australia Day long weekend as thousands of beachgoers head to the coast to cool off.
Near Drowning at Diamond Beach
On Saturday 16 January, lifeguards and surf lifesavers attended Diamond Beach, on the NSW Lower North Coast, where a 35-year-old male was in trouble in the water about two kilometres north of the red and yellow flags.

The 2021 Clubs & Community Awards submission deadline has been extended to Friday, 5 February, giving Surf Life Saving Clubs an additional two weeks to submit their stories. These awards are a fantastic opportunity to highlight your local member club’s achievements to the industry, and the wider community.

2021 NSW Surf Boat Interbranch Championship
Official nominations for the 2021 NSW Surf Boat Interbranch Championship have been extended. If you would like to nominate, please do so by this Sunday 24 January.
The Aussies 2021 - Registrations Now Open!
The 2021 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships will be hosted by Maroochydore SLSC, Alexandra Headland SLSC and Mooloolaba SLSC from 16 April to 24 April 2021.
Entries for the 2021 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships are now open. Early Bird Entries will close on 28 February, before Normal Entries close on 29 March.

Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.
