NDTG'S COVID-19 TEMPORARY ALLOWANCES ARE COMING TO AN END
During the UK lockdown, with training and assessments placed on hold and businesses facing unprecedented times, National Demolition Training Group made the decision to offer an extension to CCDO cards which were due to expire from 1st April onwards and temporarily accept UKATA e-learning certificates for Asbestos Awareness. These temporary measures were aimed to help you maintain workforce competence during the months of full lockdown.
NDTG's temporary acceptance of UKATA eLearning certificates for Asbestos Awareness and Refresher training will come to an end on Friday 2nd October 2020. Any individual looking to obtain an CCDO card after this date must have a certificate for 'face to face' training approved by one of the following: NDTG, ARCA, ACAD or UKATA.
CCDO Card extensions will no longer be granted since training has now resumed and is readily accessible via online learning or COVID-secure classroom training.

CITB LEVY UPDATE CITB will resume the collection of Levy payments from September 2020, and is offering employers the option to spread their payments over a 12-month period until August 2021 with interest free Direct Debit payments. For the following year, 2021/22, CITB have proposed a 50% Levy reduction whilst also raising the threshold at which companies are liable to pay Levy, from £80,000 to £120,000. |
APPRENTICESHIP FUNDING As part of the Government’s initiative to protect our economy and jobs, employers who hire a new apprentice between 1st August 2020 and 31st January 2021 will be able to apply for the following funding:

STEM AMBASSADOR SCHEME FOR CONSTRUCTION
Build UK and CITB have joined forces with STEM Ambassadors to showcase careers in construction to young people. The new partnership will help to recruit talent and support the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) Roadmap to Recovery.
STEM Construction and Built Environment Ambassadors play an essential role in inspiring young people to progress in STEM subjects and careers through a range of activities, including school presentations, mentoring and careers talks.
Whilst we know many NFDC Corporate Member companies actively promote careers in demolition, visit local schools in an unofficial STEM Ambassador capacity and give their time for vital social value projects, you may also be interested in finding out more about how you can get involved with the STEM Ambassador Scheme by watching Build UK’s short film and by visiting STEM.org.uk.
