Notices:*SCHOOL PHOTOS ON WEDNESDAY 27TH AND FRIDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER. ALL CHILDREN MUST WEAR FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM ON BOTH DAYS (NO PE KITS TO BE WORN ON BOTH DAYS) **We have received complaints from our neighbours about dangerous driving and a lack of consideration when dropping off and picking children up from school. Driving dangerously and not adhering to road safety rules is ILLEGAL and also puts all our CHILDREN AT RISK. We would ask all parents to follow road safety rules and parking regulations on roads surrounding the school. A Warm Reception...It has been a very exciting week in Reception as we have welcomed our new children into school for the very first time! We are very pleased that all of the children have settled very well into School 21 and are happily making friends and learning routines. We will be arranging a time in the next few weeks for parents to come in to 'Meet the Teachers' but until then, please speak to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Meet the Reception TeamMr Livingstone (left or top) teaches De Coubertin class. Ms Ingram teaches in Newton and leads on Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Mr Santhanam is the new teacher in Parks class and leads on Primary Art. Fabulous Film-makers from Year FourLast week in Year 4 we launched our Shakespeare play of Macbeth. As part of this launch the staff made a movie trailer to introduce the story to the children. Once the children had learnt the story and deepened some of the characters, they were tasked with making their own Hollywood worthy movie trailers. The children worked in teams to storyboard, resource, film and put together their trailers using iMovie. They were fantastic! Two take on the TudorsThis week in Year 2 we have been looking deeper at the characters in Romeo and Juliet. We explored different characters through hot-seating, role-play and freeze frames. We have described Romeo as he entered the Capulet ball by using interesting adjectives and some exciting adverbs. In Maths we have been looking at place value in two digit numbers and how we can partition these in different ways. We also went on a number treasure hunt to find two-digit numbers so that we could write the numbers down in words. During our project lessons we’ve made our own Tudor costumes, investigated Tudor artefacts, learnt loads of interesting facts about William Shakespeare and started to make our puppets for our own Romeo and Juliet puppet show. That's 1 yummy way to learn Maths! This week in Maths Year 1 have been using the part-whole model to find number bonds! We have used a range of concrete materials to support our learning, one of them being raisins (we got to eat them too!). Every single one of us have been working extremely hard in our lessons and have shown a lot of our school attributes this week. We love MATHS!!!
