QALEN Washington 2016 Symposium

QALEN Washington has successfully wrapped up the 2016 Symposium, with key learnings shared amongst attendees around minimum teacher qualifications, effective curriculum writing and a rising issue related to the increasing numbers of "under 18's" as global travelling learners!

This year's Symposium piloted a new element, being the collection of views and information from GAELA members, a group of ELT industry associations that seek to support mechanisms that protect the sector's reputation.

QALEN members would like to extend sincere thanks to Bill Larkin and his team for hosting and delivering what is definitely the "best Symposium ever!"  A joint communique will be issued in due course, summarising the outcomes of the event!

NEAS Quality Endorsed members and VOICE - Changing lives

NEAS Quality Endorsed ELT centres are changing lives by supporting VOICE's work in welfare, education and health.

"Working together, NEAS members are able to make a much larger contribution than if we work separately," stated NEAS Chief Executive Mark Raven.

Help us help VOICE to help Cambodia people in crisis to access their fundamental human rights.

A $1 donation buys a meal for person in crisis. A $50 donation pays for one month of rent for a homeless family. $50 a month provides food, clothes, education and healthcare to a child and enables VOICE to help their parents/carers gain employment so their children no longer need to work.

.... and the Winner is ......

NEAS is proud to share that this year's winner of the Study Travel Star English School Southern Hemisphere "Star Award" was NZLC, New Zealand

NZLC, New Zealand was successful in winning the gong, narrowly securing victory over the other nominees who were:

• Cape Studies, South Africa
