Links eNewsletter Term 4 Week 8 Dear friend of PLC, Earlier this year, MMG Education was commissioned to conduct an independent, confidential survey of our parents and students in Years 6, 9 and 12, as part of PLC Perth’s commitment to continually monitor and improve the quality of education we provide to our students. MMG Education is a market leader in school stakeholder research and performance benchmarking for schools throughout Australia. Now in its sixth year, the longitudinal data from PLC’s annual stakeholder surveys is very important for the School’s operational and strategic planning as well as tracking changes in our performance. For the 2020 review, a total of 193 parents and 276 students completed the survey. The surveys were extensive and covered in excess of 300 aspects in relation to education at PLC. Overview of Key AreasThe ‘MMG Wheel’ below reflects the average scores for all parents across key areas. Parents noted ‘very high’ scores for 11 of the 12 areas and a ‘high’ score for the remaining area. The overall score is ‘very high’. I would like to thank all parents and students for participating in the survey. Your feedback is extremely valuable to us. If you would like a more detailed summary of the results, please click here. Year 6 Scholarships 2020It is with great pleasure I congratulate the following students, who are our Year 7 Scholarship recipients for 2021.
I also extend my congratulations to the following students who have been awarded 2021 Indigenous Scholarships. Year 7

New Music CentreFinally, I am very pleased to advise that the Peppermint Grove Shire has approved revised plans for our new Music Centre. The changes to the plans include the deletion of a basement to the building and the removal of the roof terrace. This was done to reduce costs and to ensure the construction meets our budget of $4.6 million, funded through the School’s existing capital budget. It is the School’s aim to release the plans for construction tenders over the summer. - Ms Cate Begbie - Principal Music to Our EarsOn Tuesday night, Junior School students wowed the audience of the packed Heather Barr Memorial Chapel with their musical talents at the Suzuki Strings Christmas Concert. Photos are available on the PLC gallery here. The Kindergarten students also welcomed some visitors to their daily Music lesson on Wednesday, with parents and guardians joining in for some musical fun! All the photos are available here. End of Year EventsIt is an exciting time in the Junior School as we prepare for our Final Assembly on Monday evening. The students and the teachers are working hard to ensure we are in for a special night. Please refer to the PLC App message for further details. We have a number of end of year excursions and incursions that have happened and will happen next week. After the year that 2020 has presented us, it's wonderful to have some special events to celebrate the year. The Scottish Dancing extravaganza in Year 3 this week has also been a highlight. Our connection with Scotch College is very significant to us. I have been working with the new Head of the Junior School at Scotch College to increase the opportunities for our students, and our staff, to work together more often in the future.
