Throwback ThursdayColonel John McLean ArnottColonel John Arnott of the Arnott's Biscuit empire enlisted in December 1914 as Commanding Officer of the 7th Light Horse Regiment, serving alongside his son, Bruce Arnott. Colonel Arnott had previously served in the Boer War and went on to command the 9th and 13th Light Horse Regiments before becoming Commandant of the Training Centre in Moascar, Egypt. The father of seven sons, his two eldest sons served during WWI and all five younger sons served during WWII. Captain Bruce Arnott was killed on the Western Front in 1917, after earning the French Croix de Guerre, aged just 20.
