Welcome to our new quarterly update.I'm thrilled to introduce Brace Yourself - our new newsletter to enhance communication between the Building Services team and all sectors of the building industry. I'm often out and about visiting people in the building industry and one of the most common things I hear is that those involved in construction want to work more closely with the team at Council. This is really positive to hear and we're working hard to ensure the conversation between us all continues to grow. I hope you find the newsletter interesting, topical and informative. And as the Building Services team is always looking for ways to improve the way we do things please get in touch if you have any suggestions or comments on how we can make the newsletter more relevant or of more value to you. Contact me at chris.english@qldc.govt.nz. In the meantime, Brace Yourself to hear from us every quarter! And if you know anyone else who might be keen to hear from us, please share the love. If you do not wish to hear from us, please click unsubscribe at the bottom of this email. Chris English Building trendsOur Building Services team is processing a record number of building consents, mirroring an equally impressive output by the local building industry. New fees and chargesFrom 1 July 2018 our fees and charges increased. Here's more information on the changes.. New residential building consent checklistOn 31st July, we released an updated CS19.3 Residential Building Consent Checklist to help create an 'open book' approach to processing. Code Compliance Certificate (CCC)Getting your Code Compliance Certificate is an important part of the Building Consent process. We've just finished a review of the CCC process to make it more open and transparent for our customers. What about CCC's for historical consents? There are many reasons that people don't get their CCC following the completion of their build. When this drags on for over five years it becomes complex. We've launched some new guidance to help people through the process of applying for CCC for a historic building consent. New e-Docs launchedWe're thrilled to have launched a new and improved version of e-Docs. The new e-Docs features improved security settings and a vastly improved search tool. Online payments launchedWe've also made it even easier to pay your Building Consent Application Fees and Invoices. Check out the new online payments portal now. New explanatory videosBuilding Regulations can be complicated, so we've made them easier to understand using videos. We've got six videos to watch, and you can check them out now. |
