If you are not already registered for the Academy, please request access now via this link. ![]() Food Tools Trio In Nelson on 19 July, Minister for Food Safety Hon Damien O’Connor launched three new tools to make it faster, easier and more affordable for food businesses to follow the rules and keep consumers safe – Remote Verification (for remote food businesses), My Food Rules (online business registration tool) and My Food Plan (Custom Food Control Plan). IMPORTANT INFORMATION![]() Using My Food Rules & My Food PlanNow that My Food Rules is live, some businesses may need to check they are under the correct Risk-Based Measure (RBM). If councils, verifiers, food safety officers, or consultants are aware of food businesses that may have registered under an incorrect RBM, please direct the business to My Food Rules. This tool will determine their correct RBM, who they need to register with, and who can verify their business. Read more. Titiro has changed the order of verification topics to match MPI's verification report template provided to verifiers. This change was requested when Titiro first went live. Read more. ![]() New Food Importer Registration We’ve developed a new web page with information on how to Register as a Food Importer under the Food Act 2014. Anyone importing food into New Zealand for sale or export is required to be registered with MPI. This new page explains the process to register and the obligations of a food importer to ensure food is safe and suitable.
