Celebrating "March is Easter Seals Month" 

In March each year, Easter Seals celebrates "March is Easter Seals Month" with events in many provinces, cities and towns across the country. Highlights of this year's events include a visit by Easter Seals staff and ambassaodrs to Ottawa for the presentation of Easter Seals seals to the Prime Minister, and tickets for Easter Seals participants to a Toronto Marlies game - courtesy of our supporters at Coca-Cola.  READ MORE....

Funding from CIBC Children's Foundation enabled Easter Seals to support more kids and families in several provinces. 

Easter Seals is pleased to announce funding from CIBC Children's Foundation that enabled approximately 100 children and families across Canada to acquire essential assistive technology and equipment through the Easter Seals AccessAbility program. READ MORE...

RBC renews and expands its support for Easter Seals program to assist young adults develop their 21st century, leadership and employment skills. 

In 2018, RBC Foundation funded a pilot Easter Seals program in Ontario designed to support young adults develop their 21st century, leadership and employment skills. Easter Seals is pleased to announce that RBC Foundation has renewed and increased its support for the program with a $300,000 Future Launch grant to expand the program to 4 additional provinces. Easter Seals honours Amway Canada's long-term support for Canadians living with disabilities with the 2019 Easter Seals Patron Award. 

Recently, Easter Seals Canada celebrated its long-standing partnership with Amway Canada by presenting the organization with the Patron Award. To date, Amway Canada and Amway IBOs have supported Easter Seals and Canadians living with disabilities with sponsorships and donations totaling nearly $1M. READ MORE...

Thank you for supporting the 2019 #UNSTOPPABLE Paper Egg Campaign in stores across Canada! 

The 2019 Paper Egg Campaign - Easter Seals' annual grassroots fundraising campaign - came to an end on April 21st, 2019. The month-long campaign sported a brand new look and was available in many stores and retail chains across Canada such as Booster Juice, Peavey Mart and Lawtons Drugs. READ MORE...

Easter Seals at the Abilities Expo in Toronto: Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth! 

The Abilities Expo came to Toronto from April 5 to 7 in 2019 and Easter Seals was there! We had a great time meeting everyone, including The Disability Channel, who conducted an interview with one of our staff members at the booth (Watch the interview here). Calling all superheroes! Registration for the annual Drop Zone events across Canada is now open. This August and September, unleash your inner superheroes by rappeling off a high-rise tower!

Want to support Easter Seals and have a fun and amazing time? Look no further. Sign-up, and look up, way, way up... for Easter Seals' annual Drop Zone event which will be held in 7 cities in August and Sept 2019: Winnipeg, Regina, Victoria, Vancouver, Surrey, Toronto and Halifax. 2019 is the 15th anniversary for this event which is open to people of all abilities, including those with disabilities/with diverse abilities, like Andrew Nielsen. Students at Sherwood Heights School host fundraising campaign for Easter Seals

For several weeks leading up to Easter, students and staff at Sherwood Heights School, led by teacher Roberta Reid, helped to raise funds for Easter Seals. We were also invited to speak to the students about the work we do, its impact on individuals and families, and the importance of accessibility and inclusivity issues. The students had lots of questions and were very engaged. We are so grateful for their support!

National AccessAbility Week 2019: Show your support for accessiblity, inclusivity and people living with disabilities/diverse abilities with Red T-shirt Day!

May 26 to June 1, 2019 is National AccessAbility Week. First launched in 2017, National AccessAbility Week is an important opportunity to highlight, celebrate and promote inclusion and accessibility in communities, workplaces and other spaces across the country. Easter Seals is offering suggestions and ideas on how to observe National AccessAbility Week, and is also encouraging individuals, schools and workplaces to wear red on Wed, May 29, a national day of action to visibly show their support for accessibility and inclusion. READ MORE...
