Dear GO Supporter,
Welcome to the GO Oakland Roundup for the first week of October. In this edition, we'd like to update you on some tough decisions being faced by OUSD, as well as exciting developments within our campaigns.
Featured
Budget Adjustments: Last night, OUSD’s budget woes continued to unfold at the Board of Education’s Budget and Finance Committee Meeting. OUSD staff shared information about the need to make adjustments to the current school year’s budget. Though staff did not give a specific number for
how much needed to change, it was clear that the adjustment will be substantial. We've put together our best understanding of what’s at stake, why there may be adjustments, who is involved, and what the projected timeline is.
G1 Action Alert: Next week, the Oakland Unified School Board will be providing direction with regard to whether or not students in county-authorized charter schools should receive benefit from the G1 tax measure. Learn more and take action today to make sure this measure continues to support all Oakland students.

We would also like to shout out two of the 1Oakland leaders, Rebecca Haskell for bringing great ideas and executing on them, and Tamika Lyles for becoming a policy expert.
