That was a lot of information, but I feel like I could use some more... What else do I need to know? What does the Wednesday Workout look like? Beginning January 11th MIT will be hosting Wednesday Speed Workouts each week. Workouts start promptly at 6:30pm at Thomas Worthington at the track. ** If you are new to MIT or training to complete your FIRST full marathon, we do not recommend attending Jeff's workouts. Increasing mileage is tough as it is and we want you to do so enjoying running/walking. When you add intensity, your risk of injury, burnout and over-training increases. If you are unsure, email coach Jeff - Jeff@fleetfeetcolumbus.com I'm still uncertain about my pace. Do I have to choose one right away? MIT has 20 plus different "pace groups". The pace group is in place to allow you the opportunity to gain coaching support and guidance on a Saturday run. The support comes from both the Pace Coach as well as others in the group. You don't have to "declare" a pace group right away. Start with one that is closest to your long run pace and adjust if needed. Again, the physiology of endurance training says your long run pace should be at least a minute slower than your race pace.
