Menlo Ventures led the round, which included participation from Next47 Ventures and NGP Capital. Steve Sloane, partner at Menlo, will join the company’s board.
Alloy, a New York-based provider of identity verification management technology to the financial services industry, raised $40 million in Series B funding. Canapi Ventures led the round, with Partner Walker Forehand joining the board. Felicis Ventures, Avid Ventures, Bessemer Ventures, Primary Venture Partners, Eniac Ventures and others also participated in the funding.
Brightseed, a San Francisco-based provider of artificial intelligence technology for phytonutrient discovery, picked up $27 million in growth financing. Lewis & Clark AgriFood led the round, with David Russell joining the board.
Data.world Inc., an Austin, Texas-based data catalog startup, nabbed a $26 million investment led by Tech Pioneers Fund. New investors Breyer Capital, Prologis Ventures and Alumni Ventures Group also participated in the round, along with previous backers including Shasta Ventures, OurCrowd and Workday Ventures. Scott Booth of Tech Pioneers Fund and Sally Jenkins, chief marketing officer at Elastic, joined the board.
Bulletproof 360 Inc., a Seattle-based maker of a line of coffee drinks, supplements and protein bars, as well as lifestyle media content, closed a $13 million round of growth capital led by Beliv, Rocana Ventures, CAVU Venture Partners and Trinity Ventures.
Airmeet Inc., a virtual event platform, landed $12 million in Series A funding. New investor Sequoia Capital India led the round, which included support from Redpoint Ventures, Accel India, Venture Highway and Global Founders Capital.
Varada Ltd., a Tel Aviv-based data virtualization platform, collected $12 million in Series A funding. MizMaa Ventures led the round, and was joined by Gefen Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, StageOne Ventures and F2 Venture Capital.
Dendra, a U.K.-based ecosystem restoration startup, raised a $10 million Series A round led by At One Ventures, Airbus Ventures, Future Positive Capital and LowerCarbon. At One’s Tom Chi and Airbus Ventures’ Nicole Conner will join the company’s board.
Solarise Africa, a pan-African energy leasing company, secured a $10 million investment from Proparco, Energy Access Ventures and EDFI ElectriFI.
Kivuto, a Canadian provider of academic digital resources, scored a $7.6 million investment led by Roynat Equity Partners.
Sternum Ltd., a Tel Aviv-based provider of threat detection and prevention technology for connected devices, fetched $6.5 million in Series A funding. Square Peg led the investment, which included participation from btov and others. Philippe Schwartz, partner at Square Peg, joined the company’s board. Eyal Shavit and Merle Hinrich also contributed to the round, and were added to the board.
