TWO KAPITI BASED BASKETBALL PLAYERS ON SUCCESSFUL NZBA TOUR 2019

Kapiti based basketball players Sereana Rokotakala and Evyatar Tabor who were selected for the New Zealand Basketball Academy USA Las Vegas Tour 2019. It was an action packed two weeks of intense Basketball playing against the best High School athletes in America.

8 teams represented the NZBA across 3 tournament  with all teams performing extremely well and with the Academy coming home with 7 championship titles including 3 consecutive titles to the 16U Girls. The best ever achievement in the history of the New Zealand Basketball  Academy.

CONCERN OVER DOUBLING OF KCDC PR STAFF

Guy Burns, Deputy Chair of the Paraparaumu Raumati Community Board says he is concerned that Kapiti Coast District Council has doubled its number of Public Relations staff in the last 5 years.

KĀPITI INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY ACHIEVES GLOBAL RECOGNITION

Kāpiti’s 2019 International Women’s Day (IWD) event has been globally recognised by the IWD Organisation and is one of just two Kiwi entries to receive the award. 

More than 300 international groups entered the IWD 2019 Best Practice Competition. Kāpiti has been recognised in the Member Participation Category.  

The 2019 IWD theme was “Balance for Better” - Kāpiti’s event focused on creating a fairer playing field, featuring Wesley Clarke, Assistant Coach of the Black Ferns; Izzy Ford, former Black Ferns player and Porirua City Deputy Mayor; and Melissa Chan-Green, TV journalist and presenter.
