Our current system of bookkeeping does not send out automatic billing invoices, so please check your records and remit your last payment for this fiscal year. Thanks to all of you who are and continue to be members of Congregation Shalom Bayit (JCCO). We need you, especially in these trying times. Be on the lookout for a separate email with the Membership letter and Pledge form for the upcoming 2020-2021 year. It will also be sent by USPS Mail before the end of August. Also – we are hoping more of our members will find a bit of time and talent to contribute to one or more of our forming committees. If we have enough of us volunteer, we can spread out the work so no one person would have to do too much. Be on the lookout in the newsletters for Committee opportunities coming your way. Thank you in advance and we hope to see you at the High Holy Days this year. Here is a delicious recipe from The Great Big Jewish Food Fest that was offered online during our "shelter in place" phase--- I used currants in place of barberries. I give it an enthusiastic 2 Thumbs Up!
Come and Borrow or Buy a Shabbat Prayerbook, Chumash and High Holiday Machzor Having a copy of the Siddur-- Shabbat Prayer book--allows our services to have less "Screen Share " and more time 'seeing' each other. We'll still use the share feature for special text and items to share, but not the thing we are “looking at” the entire service. There will be another drive thru pick up on July 30 from 5 – 6:15 pm for folks to swing by the shul, “see” our building, sign out a book or two and drive away. Members can sign out a Machzor for High Holidays and a Chumash (Bible) at this time as well. Alice will also be willing to have books for sign out and pick up from her office downtown following this initial sign out date. and we'll have another 'Drive-thru' prior to High Holidays! You also have the option to purchase the book(s) for $58.00 (siddur), $49.50 (Mahzor) and $18.00 (Chumash). Come on by to get your texts! Call Alice if you want to come by her downtown office to pick up your texts. 541-815-4912, And... you can download the Shabbat Vehagim at the following link, if that works better for you. The Reconstructing Judaism's website also offers lots of resources for the High Holidays-- and you can download a copy of the High Holidays Machzor as well! See if you can spot our Librarian, Pat Givens, in this video!
