Numeracy workshop

NEAS is very proud to offer teachers the opportunity to participate in a numeracy workshop to be delivered by Dr Keiko Yasukawa. Keiko was instrumental in the development of the numeracy modules in the CSWE and her knowledge of numeracy is beyond my measurement skills. All teachers are invited to attend, but MUST notify NEAS of your intention to attend. Teachers who wish to attend need to make their own travel arrangements in negotiation with their employer.

Details are below:

  • What: Approaches to Numeracy Workshop
  • When: 16 February 2016, from 10:30am-4:00pm
  • Cost: Just your own travel expenses if you can’t get your employer to fund you
  • Where: St Leonards TAFE, 213 Pacific Hwy, St Leonards
  • What do I have to do: email atb@neas.org.au with your intention to attend

We are trying to make arrangements to have the sessions videoed and we will put a link on the forums if we are able to get that approved.

Passwords

We often get requests to create new logins – which we are more than happy to do. But about 50% of the time, the requests are from people who already have a login. If you have been with the AMEP for some time, or have forgotten your password, you can quickly and easily reset it yourself using the “Forgot password” button on the login page. Typically this will get you access to the ATB quicker than having us resend the welcome email.

New Tasks

Some new goodies for you:

  • C1F1 Tina’s recount
  • C1K2 Email to a Friend
  • C1K2 Postcard
  • C1M3 Simple Subtraction
  • CPF1 Spell Everyday Words
  • CPF1 Spell Everyday Words II
  • C3Q2 In the Garden

Mapping Update

We are aware that a number of AMEP providers are reviewing their approaches to managing documentation and how they ensure their documentation meets the 2015 NVR Standards for RTOs. To support this, in conjunction with the National Working Group, NEAS has started a project that aims to map all of the ATB tasks.

A note of thanks must go to the following providers who have contributed two mapped tasks over the past few months: TasTAFE, Distance Consortium, NSW AMES, Melbourne Polytechnic, TAFE SA and QLD TAFE.

But most impressive of all is Polytechnic West who have mapped an astounding 90 tasks! On behalf of all providers, teachers and students, I would like to thank Claire White, Clare Harris and the team at Thornlie for all their hard work and phenomenal contribution. The ATB is only successful because of the generous contributions of tasks and support from everyone in the AMEP community, for everyone in the AMEP community. Thank you Polytechnic West.
