This means that all our invoices and receipts are stored electronically online according to IRD regulations. Annual Account questionnaires and quotes will be sent out to you by email. Annual Accounts and Tax Summaries will also be set out via email where possible. GST Changes If you’re filing your GST returns online, you’ve noticed things on the IRD website are a little different. It’s the first part of their Business Transformation Initiatives to bring their systems into the 21st Century. If you want to learn more, IRD have put out some quick tour videos to guide you through the process at the website. Look for the video titled “Quick Tour of the new GST section in my IR”
Minimum Wage Increase Effective 1 April 2017 - the minimum wage is going up from $15.25 to $15.75 per hour for an adult. Make sure you update your payroll records to reflect this change for any of your staff on the minimum wage.
Employing Contractors Another change effective from the 1st April 2017 is that the way contractors pay their taxes. This is going to give contractors more choice and make it easier for them to get their tax right.
