A Note From Our PrincipalDear OLV Family, Our school year is off to an exciting beginning! Students from our preschool classes moved over to the “big school,” and now we are all together under one roof. Our teachers returned with our school...

Each year Duke University sponsors its Talent Identification Program in order to identify academically talented 7th graders nationwide who scored at the 95th percentile or higher on certain subtests of their standardized tests. Once identified, these 7th graders are invited to take their choice of either the SAT or ACT college entrance exams to gain greater insight into their abilities, and the program also provides them with valuable resources and additional learning opportunities throughout their school years. Congratulations to the following students in this year’s 7th grade class who met these high standards and were invited to participate in the Duke Testing program:
Amelia Beland, Daniel Bowers, Pheonix Carroll, Caroline Deichmann, Kaitlin Gilchrist, Ian Laughlin, Ira Sergio, Tyler Orlandi, and Isaiah Ziegert.
Cast will be announced the week of Sept. 3rd !
Show dates are November 9-11

We have been blessed with some donations and welcome any more, (we would really love to have some more of the full-bodied muppets as seen in the pictures).
Debate Team at OLV Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School will be participating and competing in the Birmingham Area Debate League. The commitment is one that DOES NOT have to be year long. Teams will consist of three students each, and we can have as many teams as we have interest. There are three matches a year and they are held at Samford University once a quarter on a designated afternoon from 4 until around 6 p.m.
This is an excellent way to hone those public speaking and persuasion skills, and best of all there is NO COST to be involved. Those interested should contact him at mbridges@olvsch.com
