Velmurugu Jeyadevan – Works CoordinatorAs a qualified Civil Engineer with more than 17 years experience in delivering services to Australian local government communities, I thoroughly enjoy my position at Council as Works Coordinator. My practical experience and qualifications have provided me with extensive knowledge which I am able to utilise whilst working on the construction and maintenance of Council assets. As the road, footpath, traffic and drainage projects we work on, have an impact on the community, it is of vital importance to have strategies in place to involve the community from the inception of a project. Outside of work, I volunteer with my wife every Saturday cooking Ceylon vegetarian cuisine and I also facilitate a 24/7 Sri Lankan talk back radio show. Kids Can Drown Without a Sound is a state-wide portable pool safety campaign. Any pool that can be filled with more than 30cm of water must have a four sided fence around it and also requires an approved CPR chart in the pool area. This includes inflatable and portable swimming pools. Help protect our children by ensuring your pool is safe.
