Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor to create over £500m in local economic growth

The Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor has launched its 15 year vision - to create £558m in economic growth both in and between the two cities.

The corridor joins one of the UK’s most established tech clusters with one of Europe’s largest single-site concentrations of research in food, health and environmental sciences, and with clusters of excellence in digital, manufacturing and advanced engineering.

New state-of-the-art building completed on Norwich Research Park

Norwich Research Partners LLP has completed a new 1,000 sq m state-of-the-art research and development facility for occupiers Leaf Systems International.

The facility is situated within zone 2 of the Norwich Research Park Enterprise Zone - part of the Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor. The building was completed in just 12 months.  On 23 January 2017 the building was officially opened by Jo Johnson - Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation.

£11m investment for Natures Menu

50 new jobs are expected at pet food manufacturer Natures Menu, as production increases with an £11m factory.

Cambridge Norwich Tech Corridor Company, Natures Menu has grown significantly in the last five years, and the company is looking to invest in tech experts to develop new products.  “We want people who can add value to the business, so we can continue to grow"  its Managing Director Craig Taylor told the Eastern Daily Press.

 

Cambridge and Norwich in Top 5 fastest growing cities

Cambridge's economy will grow by £170m in 2017 - making it the fastest growing city in the UK.  Norwich is listed at number 5 in the Top 5 of the annual UK Powerhouse City Growth Tracker Report, created by the Centre for Economic Business Research (CEBR) and law firm Irwin Mitchell.
