Update from Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board - Hotham is still open | 10 July 2020 Update from Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board – Hotham is still open!10 July 2020Dear stakeholder, Vail Resorts yesterday announced that their lifting operations would cease at the end of the day yesterday until at least 19 August. You can see the full media release here on our website. We are devastated for our local businesses, their staff, and all of our guests that this action has been necessary to respond to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Victoria. Hotham is still open While the lifts may not be running, there are still winter snowsports activities that can continue to run at Hotham. As a result, we have made the decision to keep the resort operating for guests from areas that are not in lockdown. This means that winter activities including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, tobogganing and snowplay will still be offered at Hotham, and we encourage visitors who are permitted to travel to consider trying these as alternative ways to enjoy our beautiful winter environment. Mount Hotham Alpine Resort Management Board will continue to operate the following services in accordance with our COVIDSafe Operating Plan:
Vic Roads will continue to clear the Great Alpine Road for access through Mt Hotham. The following services will not be running:
Please continue checking our website and Facebook page for up-to-date information. Our next step is to confirm with our on-mountain businesses which ones will continue to operate and update that information on the Hotham website (www.mthotham.com.au). Dinner Plain, which is in the Alpine Shire, also remains open and will continue to operate for visitors who are permitted to travel. For more information, please check their Facebook page. We encourage our regional Victorian visitors to continue supporting Hotham businesses and we look forward to welcoming them to our beautiful alpine environment. Reduced Resort Entry pricing In line with the reduced level of resort operations, the Resort Entry daily price will be $35 per day effectively immediately until at least 19 August 2020. Resort Entry permits must still be purchased online before travelling to the resort so we can continue to manage capacity and enable contact tracing in line with current public health guidelines. Visitors without Resort Entry will not be permitted to travel into the resort. Resort Entry refunds and registration cancellations We recognize that some guests who have booked holidays for during this period until 19 August will wish to cancel their plans, so we will be offering refunds on Resort Entry permits for the period. Please email info@mthotham.com.au with the details of your Resort Entry permit if you would like a refund. If you are a Resort Entry season permit holder, have registered to visit during the period until 19 August, and would now like to cancel your registration, you can do by emailing info@mthotham.com.au Help stop the spread We all need to play our part to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). By adhering to public health guidelines, we can help protect ourselves, our families and our communities. Please visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au for up-to-date health information. |
