First State Titles Awarded In Tricky ConditionsThe 2019 NSW Surf Life Saving Championships proudly supported by Your local club Patrol Competition and Champion Lifesaver kicked off 10 big days of events at Swansea Belmont SLSC. Adrienne Lowe (Dee Why SLSC) has been an official for over 10 years and was the sectional referee at the weekend’s event, “I think that the lifesaving events are great because they relate heavily to what happens on the beach and are really beneficial for our members. It’s such a rewarding event to be part of.” #StateChamps19Complex Rescue Saves Swimmer On Central CoastLifesavers from four surf clubs mounted a joint response to rescue a man at Foresters Beach on the Central Coast earlier this month. Blues Claim National Surf Boat ChallengeIt came down to a nail-biting final relay to determine who would claim victory in the Interstate Surf Boat Championships at Elouera Beach. Cudgen Cleans Up At Country ChampionshipsHosts of the 2019 NSW Envirobank Country Championships used their hometown advantage to finish more than 400 points clear of nearest rivals Byron Bay at Kingscliff Beach. Are You Heading To State Champs?If you’re heading to the 2019 State Champs at Swansea Belmont SLSC, make sure you visit the Envirobank activation to get your club involved and also be in with a chance for your club to win $500 before the end of the carnival! What's Something Memorable That's Happened At Your Beach?To celebrate their 15 year partnership with SLSA, DHL is giving you the chance to win $1,000 and $5,000 for your SLSC! All you need to do is share your story about something memorable that happened to you at the beach. Surfer Safety Series: Episode Two - What Can You Do To Become A Safer Surfer?The Surfer Safety Series hosted by Newport SLSC's Nick Carroll is an introduction to taking the first steps to help save a life for surfers. The six part series breaks down surfboard rescues and basic CPR for surfers. Have You Ever Thought About Joining A Dragon Boat Crew?As part of SLSNSW’s involvement in Lunar New Year, we were lucky enough to enter a team in to the Dragon Boat competition at Darling Harbour, competing against crews from around the state. Dragon Boating is an exciting, fast-paced sport that could be right up your alley as a surf lifesaver, so why not go down for a training session with the Bei Loon Dragon Boat Club in Bayview’s Rowland Reserve.
