Tasmanian International Arts Festival

On Sunday, the closing festivities kick off with Doctor Svengali, who will be spinning up a storm from 2.30pm. This is your last chance to come and catch up with friends over a drink, have a bite to eat and settle in for a super Sunday session in the delectable FREE Outdoor Lounge before La Soiree’s final spectacular show in the Spiegeltent at 5pm, and then, drum roll, please… Club Soirée fires up from 8pm!

Over the last two weeks, La Soirée, the award-winning madcap family of performers, has entertained Hobart with its edgy fusion of cabaret, new burlesque, circus sideshow and contemporary vaudeville – one that has left audiences spellbound, titillated and amazed. For the second year in a row, the show has been a breakout success, smashing box office records and leaving very few tickets unsold.

Following La Soirée’s final performance we will transform the Spiegeltent into Club Soirée.

Come down to the Spiegeltent Box Office at PW1 to get your tickets for this exclusive wrap party where your favourite cast members will close-out the Festival with a night of special performances, mind-blowing party tricks and a few other surprises that you will not have seen in La Soirée

And who knows? You may see a cast member or two hit the decks. This is your last chance to bid farewell to this motley crew of acrobats, contortionists and cabaret queens!

Get your tickets quick! This spectacular closing event is sure to sell out!

Fun for the whole family

Saturday the Spiegeltent kicks off with great line-up of family entertainment with musician, composer and instrument maker extraordinaire, Linsey Pollak, who goes Live and Loopy in a hilarious musical event. Using garden hoses, bicycle pumps, rubber gloves and everything but the kitchen sink he makes, records and loops music to surprise and delight all ages.

On Sunday, Kaput will tumble across the Spiegeltent floor with a hilarious mix of chaos, comedy and acrobatics. Kaput features the larger-than-life buffoonery of Circus Oz superstar Tom Flanagan in a brilliant family show that is full of slapstick, acrobatics and total silliness. Be swept up in the mayhem of this performance as one man’s life is flipped upside-down in a highly skilled, funny and touching show.

El Son Entero set the Spiegeltent alight with Cuban music

Dust off those dancing shoes on Saturday night and dress for ‘la fiesta’, because El Son Entero are about to transport you from the Spiegeltent to the Tropicana Club! This is an evening dedicated to the most irresistible and authentic of afro-cuban dance rhythms including cha-cha, son, danzón, danzonete, mambo, rumba, salsa and bolero. So why not do as the Cubans do? Join the party and dance like no one is watching!
