What DO Librarians DO? At COS, Librarians serve in multiple capacities including Information Competency, Technical Services & Systems and Adjunct Instructors. They are available at the Reference Desk in the LRC to assist with locating and citing resources for student work.  

 

Did you know? As an instructor, you can check out books without a card.

Have you scheduled your library orientation? Librarians are here to assist you and your students. Email askalibrarian@cos.edu to set-up an appointment or training and have reserve books ready for your students. Librarians are also available at the Reference Desk on the first floor during regular Library hours.

Tutorial Center

Located downstairs in Lodgepole, the Tutorial Center saw over 325 students for various subjects in the spring semester, totaling 2,990 hours.  Hours will be expanding starting August 15th.

Writing Center

Over 3,000 students have utilized the Writing Center at Visalia and Tulare campuses this year. Hours will be expanded at the start of the fall semester.

Math Lab

Staffed by Faculty and Student tutors, the Math Lab was utilized by 8,230 students in Visalia, 1,318 in Tulare and 392 in Hanford during the spring semester.

Computer Helpdesk

Call 730-3743 for assistance with Universal Login or help with using computers and programs. Computers are available for use during normal hours to write or print papers, access your account, email or do other academic work.
