Growing through the Franklin Women Mentoring ProgramThe final article in our Franklin Women Mentoring Program series reflects on the recent experiences of Dr Nicole Caixeiro and Dr Jane Kohlhoff as 2018 Mentees, supported by SWSR. Having since taken many strides in their careers, Dr Caixeiro and Dr Kohlhoff credit the program with nurturing their self-confidence and providing invaluable professional advocacy, largely through their matched mentor. The current schedule of webinars is as follows: CONCERT News...The Centre for Oncology Education & Research Translation (CONCERT) are inviting all current members and interested researchers to share your great work in the T2/T3 Practice and Policy space. The Deputy Director, Dr Ben Smith, and Program Manager are planning site visits to Wollongong and Canberra to meet with researchers and have an informal discussions about the current projects, and the challenges and opportunities that CONCERT may be able to assist with. SWS Postgraduate SeminarsEach fortnight, postgraduate students from UNSW Sydney, Western Sydney University and partner universities at the Ingham Institute will present their latest progress towards their higher degree projects. Come along to support the students and to contribute to the peer review of their projects. For more information, click here. 8th Annual NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation | Abstracts OpenThe Annual NHMRC Symposium on Research Translation provides a platform for NHMRC’s community of researchers and others with an interest in the creation and use of research evidence, to share information and experiences, and to be challenged by new ideas or approaches. This year's symposium will be held in Melbourne on 19-20th November 2019. Early bird deadline is 18 October 2019. ACTA International Clinical Trials ConferenceThis year's theme is Better health through best evidence and will be held in Sydney on 2-5th October 2019. The event will bring together national and international stakeholders to discuss global advances in the development of self-improving healthcare systems. The program addresses embedding clinical trials in clinical care, novel trial designs and conduct, maximising the value of clinical registries and improving public awareness and consumer involvement in clinical research. Cancer Implementation Science Community of Practice Research OfficerThe Centre for Oncology Education and Research Translation (CONCERT, Ingham Institute) has taken on the management of the Cancer Implementation Science Community of Practice. CONCERT are seeking a 0.8FTE research officer ($87,033 per annum pro rata plus 9.5% super) for one year. This role will help to establish cancer care evidence-practice gaps and develop implementation projects addressing those gaps.
