Fall StoryWalk® 2017The kickoff for Fall StoryWalk® last month was a success! Organizer Kathy Harlow of the North Suburban Child & Family Resource Network recently sent a note to thank Friends of the Fells volunteer Holly Lewis, whose "vibrant personality and willingness to just jump in and help" was a blessing. Additional sincere gratitude goes to DCR Ranger Jason Moreira, who walked with us through the story walk, peppering the stories with tidbits of his knowledge of trees, and other natural fun facts along the way. Twenty-four families signed up for this well-attended event, including 32 adults and whopping 42 children. Kid's crafts included leaf-rubbing, decorating of fall trees, tattoos, and apple prints. Every child received a free book which we read as a group while sitting on the parachute (photo 1). Kids also conducted a scavenger hunt along the trail.
