No Images? Click here Coming Soon: New Changes to Uploading Photos Did you know that brokers and agents are getting sued for using photos or videos without written permission? The good news is that you can avoid expensive copyright lawsuits by simply getting written permission from the original creator of the photo or video. Using anyone else's photo (including a homeowner, Google, or a county assessor photo) without written permission could violate copyright law. MRED’s subscriber agreement requires you to obtain written permission to use photos or videos prior to your content being submitted to the MLS system. To reduce liability, we will be reminding you about this issue each time you submit photo or video content to the MLS. We will ask you to affirm that you have obtained written copyright permissions, on the system screen that appears when uploading content to the MLS. Simply check the box on the upload screen to verify. Because the new process requires you to confirm you have the authority to use the photos, MRED will no longer be editing or uploading photos for customers. These changes are scheduled to go live the week of June 5th. Watch MRED Communications for more information about this upcoming release. Want to win $2,500?
