Movies in the Park – Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Infinity War is screening this Saturday! Come and watch Marvel heroes Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet, the evil Thanos!

Back to School Zones
School zones are back in effect! Remember to slow down to 40km/hr between the hours of 8am-9:30am and 2:30pm-4pm. Increased penalties apply for school zone offences.
International Women’s Day

Harmony Day 2019
The Strathfield community will gather together to celebrate cultural diversity and welcome our newest citizens on Harmony Day! This family fun event will feature a variety of ethnic cuisines, performances and children’s entertainment.

World Wetlands Day
Come along to a free talk hosted by BirdLife on the topic of migratory shorebirds and waterbirds. Learn about how their habitats are affected by Climate Change and get some tips on identifying wetlands birds and what you can do to help. Activity includes a walk to the Waterbird Refuge and morning tea.

The 2017-2018 Financial year achievement letter was included in the rates notice that was mailed recently. You can also view the letter on Council’s website by clicking here.
Throwback Thursday
Strathfield Park – Cottage
The photo above is an aerial shot of the cottage in Strathfield Park. From 1947, S. Begnell, a member of Council’s outdoor workforce, resided in the cottage at 11/- shillings per week and performed some oversight of the park’s activities. In 1952, Council vacated the cottage and in 1953, the cottage was removed and demolished.

Lunar New Year at Paddy’s Markets
Celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year with lion dancing at Paddy’s Markets! Locations include Flemington, Haymarket and Sydney Markets.

Community Health Conference Night
