Spotlights

See below for interviews from MSBA student Kevin Deike and Dr. Ham Bozdogan, providing their perspective on adapting to this new reality, and some of the things they miss most about being on campus.

Kevin Deike

What made you decide to get your MSBA at UTK after undergrad, rather than going on the job market – or come back if you did work after undergrad?

I worked for a few years confirming that Business Analytics was the direction I wanted to go and building a stronger academic foundation to prepare. Going to UTK was the easiest decision in the whole process. The courses cover my exact interest areas, the duration of the program is short (minimize opportunity costs), and it is incredibly affordable over the competition.

Dr. Ham Bozdogan

Do you have any interesting updates on how you are adapting to this new reality (personally or professionally)?

It was not difficult to adapt to this new reality we are in personally and professionally. However, it was difficult not being able to see my colleagues and our wonderful staff during this difficult period in the department. This situation has created a distance environment that we are not used to.
