November ENews No Images? Click here Hi everyone, Mystery surrounds the Bendigo Yarn Bombers. So secret was their contribution to Artlands Victoria that even I was (pleasantly) surprised to find myself sitting underneath their superbly crafted yarn-brellas in the Bendigo Library during an interview on Day One of the event. I’m reliably informed that intrigue is part of the modus operandi for the group. Some secrets are best held tight. Others, like the tips and tools our speakers offer at the upcoming Arts Connect forum in Cororooke, are for sharing far and wide. The final Small Town Transformation events for 2018 are also worth shouting about. And we want to know all about the ways you celebrate your local hall as part of Home is Where the Hall is throughout November. These and more surprises await you in this, the latest edition of the Regional Arts Victoria ENews. Joe Toohey PARTNERSHIPS Collaborate and Create: the connection between inspiration and sustainabilityArts Connect is back, and our final workshop for the year is happening in Cororooke, near Colac. And it has been a big two years for the six communities involved. With fewer than 2,000 people in their towns, $350,000 was pledged over two years for each town to undertake ambitious creative projects to transform their towns with lasting legacy and significant impact. Please join us for the final celebrations in Narrawong and Lake Tyers Beach. Image by Anna Carson, Blue Branches 2018, Small Town Transformations Birregurra. PROJECTS Kang-o-Meertek, NarrawongLaunching 10 November, The project reimagined and shared intergenerational stories and experiences inspired by local Indigenous heritage, culture, place and country. Narrawong residents and neighbouring towns participated through a variety of initiatives facilitated across Narrawong, including numerous art workshops, collaborations with Gunditj Mara peoples and other partners, multi-form fabric projects by Deb Saunders and the Narrawong square blanket project by Shelley Husband.
