MSIA Student Monitors Elections in Tunisia

MSIA student Jamie Smelley recently traveled to Tunisia to monitor the recent elections. We checked in to hear her more about her experience:

"I recently had an opportunity to travel to Tunisia with The Carter Center in order to participate in an election monitoring mission. The Carter Center deployed 85 observers to 380 polling stations and 27 tabulation centers on Election Day. I was able to help run logistics and coordinate the teams in the field, as well as listen to their findings and collect the necessary data for an evaluation of the election. I was able to observe poll center opening and closing procedures and learn how to set up and, once completed, break down an overseas monitoring mission."
