Gupshup, a conversational messaging startup, added $240 million in new funding from investors including Fidelity Management & Research Co., Tiger Global Management, Think Investments, Malabar Investments, Harbor Spring Capital and others.
Exo, a Redwood City, Calif.-based maker of a handheld ultrasound device, completed a $220 million Series C round. Lead investor RA Capital Management was joined by BlackRock, Sands Capital, Avidity Partners, Pura Vida Investments and others in the new funding.
Odoo, a Belgian enterprise software company, landed a $215 million growth investment from Summit Partners. The funding provides an exit for venture-capital investors Sofinnova Partners, which backed Odoo in 2010, and XAnge, which invested in the company in 2015.
Contentful, a Berlin-based content platform for digital-first businesses, completed a $175 million Series F round, giving the company a valuation of more than $3 billion. Tiger Global Management led the investment.
Algolia Inc., a San Francisco-based search API platform, closed a $150 million Series D round led by Lone Pine Capital at a postmoney valuation of $2.25 billion. New investors Fidelity Management & Research Co., Steadfast Capital Ventures, Glynn Capital and Twilio also contributed to the funding, along with previous backers Accel and Salesforce Ventures.
Mercury, a San Francisco-based provider of banking services for startups, secured a $120 million investment at a $1.6 billion valuation. Coatue Management led the round, which included support from Andreessen Horowitz, CRV, Sapphire Ventures and others.
Genomatica Inc., which is focused on developing sustainable materials derived from plant- or waste-based feedstocks instead of fossil fuels, nabbed a $118 million Series C round led by Novo Holdings.
Dixa, a Copenhagen-based customer service platform, scored $105 million in Series C funding. General Atlantic led the investment, which saw additional participation from Notion Capital, Project A Ventures and SEED Capital. Tom Hussey, vice president in General Atlantic’s technology sector, will join Dixa’s board.
Bota Biosciences, a China-based sustainable bio-manufacturing startup, raised more than $100 million in an oversubscribed Series B round. Sequoia Capital China led the funding, which included contributions from Matrix Partners China, Source Code Capital, Sherpa Healthcare Partners and 5Y Capital.
Culture Amp, an employee-engagement and performance-management technology provider, snagged $100 million in Series F financing led by TDM Growth Partners and Sequoia Capital China. New investor Salesforce Ventures also participated in the round, alongside existing backers Felicis Ventures, Blackbird Ventures, Index Ventures, Sapphire Ventures, Skip Capital, Grok Ventures and Global Founders Capital.
Atera, a developer of a predictive automation and remote monitoring and management platform, fetched $77 million in Series B financing. General Atlantic led the round, which included participation from previous investor K1 Investment Management. The company has offices in New York, Tel Aviv and The Netherlands.
Isar Aerospace, a satellite launch vehicle provider, added $75 million in Series B funding. HV Capital, Lombard Odier and Porsche SE led the round, which also included support from Earlybird Venture Capital.
Homebase, a San Francisco- and Houston-based SaaS platform that helps small businesses manage hourly teams, raised a $71 million Series C round. Lead investor GGV Capital was joined by Bain Capital Ventures, Baseline Ventures, Bedrock Capital, Cowboy Ventures, Khosla Ventures, PLUS Capital and others in the funding.
Friss, a provider of insurance fraud prevention and detection services, completed a $65 million Series B round led by Accel-KKR. The company is based in The Netherlands and Mason, Ohio.
