Also in this week's edition, we're bringing you details on SWELL Sculpture Festival and how you can explore our biodiverse city with our NaturallyGC program.

Cameras at the ready - we're calling on all nature lovers, photographers, and aspiring creatives to submit snaps for our 2021 NaturallyGC Instagram photo competition.

From our stunning coastlines to the scenic hinterland, ancient rainforests and unique flora and fauna, there's no shortage of nature to explore on the Gold Coast. Not sure where to get started? Check out our nature trails page for a list of conservation areas to discover.

How to enter:

  • take a photo of fauna, flora or a landscape here on the Gold Coast
  • upload it to Instagram (ensure your profile is on public)
  • include the hashtag #NaturallyGC2021 and tag @cityofgoldcoast.

Swell Sculpture Festival

SWELL Sculpture Festival

Come face to face with over 65 awe-inspiring sculptures by local, national and international artists at the 19th edition of the SWELL Sculpture Festival 2021.

 

When: 10 to 19 September, 8am-8pm
Where: Currumbin Beach

 

From dusk until dawn Currumbin Beach will transform into a delightful outdoor gallery, with each sculptural piece telling a unique story.

 

Immerse yourself in the creative experience of SWELL across the broader city, with pop up exhibitions including westerlySWELL at Mudgeeraba & Lower Beechmont, easterlySWELL at Chevron Island and northerlySWELL at Helensvale.

Connect, conserve and explore our city's natural environment with NaturallyGC this Biodiversity Month. As one of the most biodiverse regions in Australia, our city is a celebration of nature with:

  • 1730 species of native plants
  • almost 600 species of native animals.
