Stew & Fellowship No Images? Click here Get ready for fun and fellowship. This years spring fellowship is only one month away. It will be March 16-18 at Cherokee Scout Reservation. This will be a jam-packed weekend of activities as we make preparations for Conclave, practice for the quest activities, hold our lodge elections, present awards at the banquet, and honor our members at the vigil callout ceremony. With all of those things and more, this is an event you don’t want to miss. Visit the event page on our website and register today! The shows committee for the April 2018, Section Conclave, needs your help! They are looking for adult and youth members to join the cast and crew. Individuals are needed starting early on Friday to help set-up the stage and production equipment. Crew assistance will be needed during the shows, Friday and Saturday Night, running equipment and managing stage activities. In addition to the crew members, they need 6 youth members to join the cast in the part of the section Lodge Chiefs. These roles will be non-speaking and will require some simple movements while carrying torches. The Saturday evening show is planned to include our AIA dancers and singers. This will not take away from participation in the activities and competitions scheduled during the day. They also have a need for a horse, rider, and handler to play a special part in the show (they should be comfortable with fire that will be in place at the stage area). The shows team is planning their first cast and crew meeting for this Sunday, February 18, at 2 pm in the council office. This meeting will provide those in attendance with the details of the shows. In addition to the needs above much work will need to take place preparing for these shows between now and the start of Conclave. If you have any interest in lending a hand with these needs, please plan to attend the Sunday meeting or contact Ken Shahbaz by phone 336.339.1203 or email to lodge70@lodge70.org . The 2018 SR-7B Cardinal Conclave will be hosted by our own Lodge at Cherokee Scout Reservation. The Section Conclave will be one of the largest gatherings of Arrowmen this year and is definitely one you will not want to miss. Plan to join us for the weekend from April 20 - 22. Registration and memorabilia preorders are open, so reserve your spot today. In addition to the weekend of the main event, we have scheduled three workdays at camp and will need your help preparing our facilities and making preparations for Conclave. Mark your calendars and plan to lend a hand. Those in attendance at the workday will receive a limited edition work day patch and lunch will also be provided. Expect more on our Conclave efforts throughout the Spring as we prepare our Lodge for the weekend. Conclave Workdays Many of you have requested a staff committee and have not registered for the weekend. Staff committee request and registration are separate and everyone must register to attend. It is time to make your annual lodge membership fee payment. Staying current on your fees is important for the lodge and the national organization. Your annual fee helps support the events and activities that our lodge provides each year. Staying current also ensures you will continue to receive important communications from the lodge about upcoming events and opportunities you don’t want to miss. Please remember in order to remain an active member in the Order of the Arrow you must also maintain your registration with a scouting unit. In addition to member fees, this is also the time for you to mark your calendars with all of the events for 2018 and complete your Gold Card Registration. Purchasing a Gold Card will pre-pay for all lodge events in 2018 and make the check-in process both easier and faster. The cost for a gold card is $80 and covers both fellowship events and all three ordeals. By making this advance purchase you will save $15 on event fees. Gold Cards will be on sale until Spring Fellowship. Please direct any questions to lodge70@lodge70.org Visit our membership page for additional information and links for fees and Gold Cards.
