Lauren Paul
Office Manager, Infrastructure & Development
I am part of a team of four Office Managers who support Executives, Managers and staff with their day to day responsibilities. I enjoy supporting both the Infrastructure Planning and Service Development areas in this exciting time of growth. There is always a new and interesting project to work on. One of the most recent projects I was involved with was the Strathfield Park playground upgrade. It was great to be in on the ground level while the original plans were being developed and play equipment being chosen. Seeing the plan come to fruition with the final stages of installation and opening the
park for the public to enjoy, was a very rewarding experience. I look forward to my future involvement assisting this inspiring team as we move into the future.

Two of Strathfield’s longest running volunteers, Keith Hughes and Fran Prior, gave another fantastic volunteering effort to support the waste diversion goals of Strathfield council at the 2017 Food and Jazz Festival. Keith and Fran have volunteered for Strathfield Council for many years, and continue to make time to support our environmental projects and events. If you feel inspired by our community champions, please don’t hesitate to contact Council and add your name to the growing list of volunteers.

Dill Macky HomeBefore the Catholic Institute of Sydney located to its current premises at 95-103 Albert Road, Dill Macky Home had a number of different tenants. Originally the NSW Society for Blind Women was established in 1891 and was next occupied by the Bedford Collegiate School for girls, where the building was extended in 1911. The Dill Macky Home for Protestant Orphans was opened in 1922 and during WWII the building was occupied by the Australian Army and used as a barrack for women. The building later became the Australia Post Training Centre and in the
1990’s it was acquired by the Catholic Diocese of Sydney.
