SLDL April Newsletter

The SLDL office hopes to engage students, faculty, and staff in ways
that promote and develop an inclusive and diverse environment.
We oversee student clubs and the Graduate Student Council, promote student engagement, host events and workshops related to diversity and leadership, advise international students, promote mentorship, and manage health insurance enrollment. GAYpril Celebration 

Every year the Claremont Colleges celebrate a month of LGBTQQIAA Pride in April. This is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ individuals to enjoy visibility and support while celebrating our identities and promoting awareness about issues surrounding the diverse intersections of queer identity. Keep an eye out for the Queer Resource Center's Gaypril 2022 calendar!

Grab & Go Breakfast: Graduate Student Appreciation Week

Wednesday, April 6th | 9 AM - 12 PM

SLDL is sponsoring a Grab-and-Go breakfast, outside Hagelbarger's Cafe in celebration of Graduate Student Appreciation Week. Stop by for morning treats to get your day started off right!

Curricular Practical Training (OPT) Workshops 

Friday, April 22 | 12 PM 

Join SLDL to learn more about Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for F-1 students to gain work experience while in school. Learn about what CPT is, how to seek approval to work off-campus, and the available resources to learn more. This session is virtual.

Sprintax Webinars for International Students 

Multiple offerings 

Students filing non-resident tax returns have several opportunities to attend Sprintax Webinars to learn more about filing taxes. If you worked in 2021, make sure to file on time. Didn't work? Mail in the 8843 only.

The tax deadline is coming up! Monday April 18, 2022.

Intercollegiate Feminist Center + CWR Zine Making Workshop

Friday, April 22nd | 12:15 PM - 1:45 PM at Vita Nova Conference Room, Scripps College

Here's your chance to get creative in a feminist zine writing workshop with the CWR and IFC! Learn about the genre of the zine and participate in a guided zine writing activity. Attendees will be provided with the materials to make their zine live. Bring your favorite feminist quotes or images to integrate into your zine.
