Finalists Named in 2021 Awards of Excellence
Congratulations to the finalists named in the 2021 Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence! Sydney Northern Beaches Branch winners will be added to this list following their Awards in August.
Event Update - Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in Greater Sydney, the in-person event scheduled to be held at Luna Park has been cancelled. Further information about how the Awards will be presented will be published on the event page shortly.
WIN an IRB Hull for your Club Thanks to Ampol
As one of SLSA’s Major National Partners, Ampol is contributing to our frontline services by giving away two (2) Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Hulls to two (2) deserving Surf Life Saving Clubs. To enter your club into the running, just tell us (in 100 words or less) why your club needs a new IRB hull. Get in quick, this competition will run from Monday 19 July 2021 until Sunday 22 August 2021, with the winners named on Monday 30 August. Good luck!

Skills Maintenance Requirements for 2021/22 Season
All active lifesavers are required to complete a skills maintenance (proficiency check) to demonstrate competency in the lifesaving award/s they hold and wish to remain current. SLSA Circular 02 outlines the skills maintenance requirements for the 2021/22 season.
Annual Compliance Requirements for Clubs and Branches
Clubs and branches must complete the requirements detailed in Circular 3681, by the due dates, to be compliant for the 2021-2022 season and to be entitled to benefits such as receiving fundraising distributions.
Nominations for Life Membership of SLSNSW
Nominations for Life Membership of SLSNSW are now open. Nominations are to be forwarded via branch by Thursday, 30 September 2021. Successful nominations will be announced at the SLSNSW Annual General Meeting, to be held Friday 5 November 2021.

Teachers are invited to the SLSNSW Teachers Coastal Education Week, 18-22 Oct 2021 - a unique week of exciting and free interactive learning, collaboration and expert insights specifically for Primary and Secondary teachers.

Nominations close TOMORROW for the 2021 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards. The Awards recognise the efforts and the personal contribution of volunteers.
Call for Emergency Services Medal Nominations
Due Friday 30 July - Suitably credentialed members are now eligible to be recognised for their outstanding contributions to frontline service, through a nomination for the Emergency Services Medal (ESM).

24 Hour Row for Mental Health - Postponed
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, the 24 Hour Row has been postponed until 30-31 October 2021.
The Burley Griffin Gift - 10km Surfboat Race
Registrations are open for the 10km Burley Griffin Gift Surfboat Race, held 9 October 2021 on the iconic Lake Burley Griffin. Proudly supported by Broulee Surfers Surf Life Saving Club.
SLSA Pool Rescue Championships
Due to the evolving COVID-19 situation, the SLSA Pool Rescue Championships have been rescheduled to October 29-31, at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.
Coolangatta Gold
Entries are now open for the endurance event that will take place from 16-17 October on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Grants & Fundraising
Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Branch Engagement Officer
A new opportunity has become available to support the members of Surf Life Saving club and branch management teams in NSW through the creation, maintenance and promotion of resources and learning opportunities.
Surf Sports Manager
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Sports Manager will strategically drive the operations and growth of Surf Sports in NSW. Leading the Surf Sports team, this role will be responsible for the development and delivery of a contemporary range of surf sports events and programs.
Senior Surf Sports Competition Coordinator
Reporting to the Sports Manager, the Senior Surf Sports Competitions Coordinator will effectively coordinate the conduct of all SLSNSW Surf Sports events in partnership with the Sports Events Staging Coordinator and appointed Senior Officials.
Beach Safety Awareness Presenter
Deliver beach safety talks and sessions to primary and secondary school students. Applicants must have their SRC or Bronze Medallion, drivers license, WWCC, own vehicle, and a passion for helping the local community.
Early Childhood Beach Safety Presenter
Deliver a brand new beach safety show to young children between the ages of 3 and 6. We urge anyone interested to apply but early childhood education experience and knowledge will be highly regarded. Training provided.
Multicultural Beach Safety Presenter
Deliver beach safety and rock fishing safety talks to community groups and diverse audiences in English and your own language both virtually and face to face. We urge anyone interested to apply but those with a strong knowledge and interest in their own culture will be highly regarded. Training provided.
Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!
With over 330 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:
