Finalists Named in 2021 Awards of Excellence

Congratulations to the finalists named in the 2021 Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence! Sydney Northern Beaches Branch winners will be added to this list following their Awards in August. 

Event Update - Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation in Greater Sydney, the in-person event scheduled to be held at Luna Park has been cancelled. Further information about how the Awards will be presented will be published on the event page shortly.

WIN an IRB Hull for your Club Thanks to Ampol

As one of SLSA’s Major National Partners, Ampol is contributing to our frontline services by giving away two (2) Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) Hulls to two (2) deserving Surf Life Saving Clubs. To enter your club into the running, just tell us (in 100 words or less) why your club needs a new IRB hull. Get in quick, this competition will run from Monday 19 July 2021 until Sunday 22 August 2021, with the winners named on Monday 30 August. Good luck!

Skills Maintenance Requirements for 2021/22 Season

All active lifesavers are required to complete a skills maintenance (proficiency check) to demonstrate competency in the lifesaving award/s they hold and wish to remain current. SLSA Circular 02 outlines the skills maintenance requirements for the 2021/22 season.

Annual Compliance Requirements for Clubs and Branches

Clubs and branches must complete the requirements detailed in Circular 3681, by the due dates, to be compliant for the 2021-2022 season and to be entitled to benefits such as receiving fundraising distributions.

Nominations for Life Membership of SLSNSW are now open. Nominations are to be forwarded via branch by Thursday, 30 September 2021. Successful nominations will be announced at the SLSNSW Annual General Meeting, to be held Friday 5 November 2021.

Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Australian Lifeguard Service NSW - Recruitment Now Open!

With over 330 positions available across 90 locations, the ALS is encouraging surf lifesavers to apply as a means of offering local employment, building stronger relationships with clubs and providing opportunities for club members to develop leadership and lifesaving skills as:

  • Lifeguard Supervisors
  • Seasonal Staff
  • Casual Staff.
