From the Principal...When we choose a school like Ellenbrook Christian College, for the vast majority of us, convenience is not the overriding consideration. When we choose schools we do so considering what the school stands for, their values and the learning and pastoral environment they will provide to our children. At the College, we are very proud of providing a high quality education in a safe environment that grounds itself on our Christian faith. Our students are a credit to their school and their families and of course to themselves. We believe that it is our duty as a school to work towards continuous improvement. To this end we are seeking your input to assist us in developing the future directions for our school. I have worked with the staff and gleaned from them their thoughts about our areas of strength and areas in which we need to improve. Over the course of the term we will be surveying parents and our senior students about their thoughts about the school. When this
happens, we would appreciate it if you can commit some time to the process as we value your feedback. I am pleased to announce that we have had an overwhelming response to our call for volunteers who may be interested in serving as year/class liaison parents and a fund-raising committee. We will shortly be in contact with all those who responded and invite them to an initial meeting where we will discuss the proposed structure. This level of interest and willingness to serve is worthy of celebration. We thank you for your support. At Ellenbrook we are seeking to place personal excellence front and centre in our approach. God has gifted each one of our students with their strengths and gifts and we seek to work with them to develop and to achieve their personal best. Our quest for personal excellence is one that needs to permeate every aspect of the College life. Teachers committing to providing the best possible learning experiences, students committing to embracing opportunities and giving their very best and parents committing to supporting students through encouragement and reiterating the personal excellence message at home. I had the opportunity to speak to the Year 12 students last week about their responsibility
to set an example to the rest of the school. I have asked them to be diligent in maintaining the dress, hair and grooming standards. Naturally this expectation extends to all students in the College. I have been very pleased by the standard of our students’ presentation. In cases where student appearance does not reflect the expected standard, we ask that you support us in addressing this. I look forward to working with you, the parents, our boys and girls and all the dedicated staff at Ellenbrook Christian College to furthering the aims of this great school.
