So far, we have received 242 refund requests (of a possible 633) from local businesses. If you have provided already provided your details either via the online form or direct to Council via phone or email, there is no need to re-send your information. We want to be sure that we reach as many businesses and process as many refunds as possible by the end of May. Simon, Business Support Team, Surf Coast Shire Council The Surf Coast Shire Council has elected to refund some fees that businesses have paid in the 2019-20 financial year and waive those fees for 2020-21. Council approved this as part of its COVID-19 support package adopted at a Council Meeting on Tuesday 28 April. The full details of the support package can be found on our website. The initiatives in this support package have a strong focus on food, hospitality and accommodation businesses which are the groups most heavily impacted by the restrictions put in place due to COVID-19. The COVID-19 Hardship Policy enables Council Staff to agree payment plans as far out as 30 June 2021 to ensure payments plans are achievable and suit individual needs.
