DOUBLE YOUR $100 FOR ACTIVE KIDS With 71 per cent of NSW kids not meeting recommended physical activity levels, this extra $100 towards sport and active recreation will go a long way. The NSW Government has committed an additional $40 million to expand the Active Kids Program in 2019. NEW PREMIERS PRIORITIES Late last month NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced her new Premiers Priorities with two solely focused on greening our public spaces. Creating more quality green spaces closer to homes and increasing the tree canopy is on the agenda by planting one million trees in Greater Sydney by 2022. KEEPING THINGS GREEN NSW can find inspiration with The Conversation's article on how Melbourne and Canberra are leading Australia’s green cities movement. Also look at the concept for the Parramatta Light Rail's green track, this sustainable urban design solution contributes to increased biodiversity, noise reduction and urban cooling. A win for everyone!
