Click here 8 March 2018Return and Earn arrives in Strathfield!Mayor Vaccari, Deputy Mayor Hall and Councillors Duggan and Pensabene unveiled the first reverse vending machine in Strathfield this week! The machine is located in the Council carpark across from Strathfield Plaza. Residents returning containers will earn 10c for every item. 170 Wheelie Bins of Litter Collected!Last weekend over 1300 volunteers gave their time to collect litter in Strathfield as put of Clean Up Australia Day. Across 10 sites there was over 20,000 litres of litter collected. This is enough to fill 170 council wheelie bins! Repairs underway at the underpassThe Strathfield subway lane underpass is looking much brighter as Council has commenced works to improve its aesthetics with the removal of graffiti and applying layers of fresh paint. In the coming weeks the garden beds by the underpass will also be re-landscaped. Everyone’s invited to Harmony Day!Cultures combine in this celebration of the many communities who come from across the globe to call Strathfield home! This colourful Hindu festival is a celebration of good triumphing over evil. Seniors Festival ProgramStrathfield Council is proud to be supporting the 60th anniversary of the Seniors Festival! There is plenty to do with a number of events across 12 days including a special free concert at Strathfield Town Hall on Sunday 8 April by the Strathfield Symphony Orchestra. Council Offices Closure NoticeCouncil offices will be closed tomorrow for an Industry Public Holiday. Normal hours will resume Mon 12 March. Throwback ThursdaySeven Miles from SydneyIn 1913 it was believed that Tuberculosis could be cured by moving patients away from cities and sea air to fresh and dry air environments.
