Bright Educational is dedicated to bringing you the very best and most skilful artwork to inspire a real love of learning, and this month we're excited to introduce to you three fantastic new artists whom have recently signed with the agency: Ria Maria Lee, Michelle Hird and Harriet Popham. You can read more about each of these talented creatives, and enjoy a sample selection of their work, below. Discover their full, fabulous portfolios and read further about their respective creative journeys online - just hit the button and navigate to the artist's page you'd like to explore! Ria describes a childhood spent doodling and luxuriating in the exciting worlds conjured by books and movies - so a career in illustration perhaps seems the totally natural evolution of this lifelong love! Although working principally in Photoshop, Ria occasionally creates with traditional media (e.g. watercolor and pencil), but is always accompanied by a soundtrack of jazz or an epic movie score that she says imbues every brushstroke with intensity, drama - and a dash of whimsy. She is currently based in sunny Southern California. Michelle Hird is an author, illustrator and graphic designer. Although based in East London, Michelle was born and raised in Liverpool and her first, published children’s book, Binx the Jinx, is shot through with a characteristically 'Scouse' determination to triumph over adversity. Michelle's work has been showcased through numerous editorial pieces for Vitality magazine, O2 magazine, Flight Centre magazine and IKEA. She is also an experienced infographic designer, working on blue-chip accounts such as Nestlé and Honda. Harriet is an illustrator, pattern designer and embroidery artist, based in Somerset, UK. Her diverse portfolio celebrates her love of architecture, her family's farming background and reflects her enthusiasm for working in a variety of media and for all sorts of applications - ranging from colouring books and stationery to ceramics, furniture and a 40sq-metre installation at Sheffield Museum! After graduating from the Swansea College of Art UWTSD with a first class degree in Surface Pattern Design, Harriet worked on freelance projects and commissions as well as launching her own range of products. Since 2015, Harriet has worked on design collaborations for many homeware products, as well as selling her own fabrics, prints and embroidered canvasses.
